SmoothDome® Slotted Caps meet all applicable requirements for a Type I (top impact) helmet as outlined in ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 (Class E) and CSA Z94.1-2005 (Class E)
SmoothDome Caps also meet the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 voluntary standard for reverse donning and low temperature.
Hi-viz orange and hi-viz yellow-green SmoothDome caps meet the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 voluntary stndard for high visibility as well.
WARNING: Do not mix suspension and helmet sizes. Make sure the sizes match (i.e., standard-size suspension with standard-size helmet). Use only MSA suspensions on an MSA helmet. Failure to comply with the above will reduce the energy-absorbing ability of the protective helmet, which can result in serious injury or death.

is a tough, lightweight helmet with a
Fas-Trac® Suspension. Its
smooth silhouette is welcomed by
welders, especially those in
shipbuilding and general construction.
And some workers simply prefer
wearing a smooth-crowned hard hat!
However, SmoothDome caps are not
specifically designed to protect
against lateral blows from the front,
side, or rear. (MSA’s Vanguard®
protective helmets are so designed
and must be used if lateral protection
is desired.)
